ALOR SETAR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Five schools in Kedah are still affected by floods as of tonight, Kedah state education department director Abdul Rahim Mat said.
The schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Dato Wan Kemara, SK Kodiang, SK Seri Banai, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Yit Min and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Jitra in Kubang Pasu district, while SK Batu Lapan Changlun, SK Putat, SMK Bandar Baru Sintok and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Dublin Bahagian Lima are back in operation, he added.
"The department is taking proactive measures to ensure that the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations run smoothly,” he said in a statement tonight, adding that two examination centres - SMK Seri Gunong and Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Darussaadah in Kota Setar district - have been ordered to move immediately due to floods.
The 62 SPM candidates from SMK Seri Gunong and 89 candidates from SMA Darussaadah have been transferred to the SMK Agama Kedah dormitory here while SMK Agama Kedah Form One to Form Three students have been allowed to study from home, he added.
