SHAH ALAM, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Menteri Besar’s Office has denied allegations about the wealth of an officer to Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who was accused of holding too many positions under the state government, describing the claims as malicious and politically motivated.
In a statement today, the office said the accusations, which went viral through a new WhatsApp group while Amirudin was tabling the Selangor Budget 2026, were baseless.
“It is clearly slanderous, misleading and not factual. A report will be lodged with the authorities by the officer concerned as a sign of accountability,” the statement said.
The office also urged all parties to focus on the state’s development agenda and the welfare of the people, instead of engaging in immature politics through the creation of malicious, wild and false perceptions.
Earlier, the media reported that Amirudin had been asked to comment on allegations of unexplained wealth involving the officer, who was claimed to be holding too many positions in the state government.
