MELAKA, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- The ‘Hari Exco Bersama Rakyat’ (HEBAT) programme serves as an important platform for the Melaka government to bring the people and the executive council (Exco) closer together, ensuring that public needs and complaints can be addressed directly, swiftly and effectively.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the initiative allows residents from all 28 state constituencies to meet Exco members face-to-face at the Seri Negeri Complex in Ayer Keroh on Nov 13, without intermediaries.

“Through this approach, the government can hear directly from the people and formulate better policies to ensure their affairs are managed efficiently and harmoniously.

“The state government’s current focus is to address every public concern, no matter how small. The people must be cared for, and their voices must be heard,” he said during the Dak Rauf Masuk Konti segment on MelakaFM at the Department of Broadcasting Melaka today.

Ab Rauf said the upcoming HEBAT programme follows the success of its inaugural edition, which received nearly 200 complaints from across the state, 80 per cent of which were resolved within two months.

He said most of the issues raised were related to development and infrastructure, welfare aid, economic support and cleanliness.

“The state government has set a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for simple cases that do not require high cost to be resolved within two weeks.

“Regardless of the circumstances, all departments and agencies are responsible for ensuring that the status of each complaint is regularly updated so the public can track progress,” he said.

Ab Rauf emphasised that every state government initiative is designed with one primary goal: to benefit the people of Melaka and ensure their voices continue to receive due attention.

“As such, the people of Melaka are invited to attend the HEBAT programme, which will feature various service counters from both state and federal departments and agencies to facilitate public dealings,” he added.
