KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 (Bernama) -- A total of 2,257 entrepreneurs nationwide have so far benefited from the Maju Usahawan MADANI (MUM) 2025 programme organised by the Centre for Entrepreneur Development and Research (CEDAR).
Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said women entrepreneurs dominated participation, with 1,674 entries.
"Women's participation in the programme is three times higher than that of male entrepreneurs, who only recorded 583 participants. I hope that more male entrepreneurs will join this initiative.
"MUM offers entrepreneurs opportunities to learn to grow their businesses, including strategies for cost savings, digitalisation and leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technology," he told reporters after closing the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency MUM programme here today.
Ramanan said that with the encouraging participation so far, he is confident that the MUM platform will produce more entrepreneurs in the country who leverage technology and digitalisation in their businesses.
"This also involves learning and understanding credit management strategies, e-invoicing, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices," he added.
CEDAR, a subsidiary of the Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Bhd (SME Bank), aims to recruit 3,000 entrepreneurs nationwide for the MUM programme this year.
