KUCHING, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Sarawak-based aluminium solutions provider Alumaster has become the first manufacturer in the state to secure dual recognition from SIRIM QAS International and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) for its aluminium casement windows and sliding door systems.

In a statement, Alumaster said the certifications, awarded under MS832:2022 and MS1017:2022 after one and a half years of testing, confirmed that its products meet Malaysia’s latest standards for construction safety and durability, while underscoring Sarawak’s growing contribution to the country’s construction and sustainability agenda.

The certified products, namely the Alumaster PCW 1000 Series Aluminium Casement Window and Alumaster PSD 1000 Series Aluminium Sliding Door, were tested to stringent requirements including withstanding loads of up to 100 kilogrammes and enduring tropical wind pressures suitable for high-rise, coastal and extreme-weather developments.

Beyond structural performance, the systems offer noise insulation to mitigate urban traffic sounds and energy efficiency through double-glazed glass that blocks infrared heat while allowing natural light, features tailored to Malaysia’s urban lifestyle and climate.

Alumaster said SIRIM and CIDB product certifications are widely recognised as among the highest benchmarks in the country’s building materials sector, ensuring products meet safety, performance and regulatory compliance.

“This achievement is not just about meeting standards, it’s about exceeding them. We have always believed that innovation must be rooted in purpose. From Sarawak, we are showing that sustainable, world-class living solutions can be proudly Malaysian,” said Alumaster founder William Koh.

The company said the recognition supports Malaysia’s Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP) and National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which promote the use of greener and longer-lasting materials in the built environment.

It added that aluminium’s recyclability and extended lifespan help reduce replacement needs, lower material waste and cut lifecycle costs, in line with the government’s focus on sustainable construction.

“Every product that uses recyclable aluminium helps reduce environmental impact and supports Malaysia’s green transition,” said Koh

Alumaster added that the dual certification is a milestone for Sarawak and the nation as Malaysia celebrates Malaysia Day, reflecting the spirit of unity, resilience and shared progress.
