SHAH ALAM, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s largest home-grown halal pizza chain, US Pizza, aims to expand to 200 outlets by the end of 2026 following positive business growth in recent years.
Its group chief operating officer, Deric Yeo, said the company now operates nearly 100 outlets across Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, with 70 of them in the domestic market.
“This year alone, we have opened 15 new outlets, including at Eco Grandeur. We are aiming to add 15 more before the end of the year,” he said at the opening of a new US Pizza outlet at Eco Grandeur, Bandar Puncak Alam, today.
Yeo said the company also planned to enter the Philippine market and several other Southeast Asian countries next year, in line with its long-term plan to reach 200 outlets by the end of 2026.
He said US Pizza recorded sales of around RM30 million last year and expects that figure to reach as much as RM50 million by the end of this year, thanks to new outlets and kiosk openings.
He added that part of the revenue is reinvested into research and development, particularly in outlet design and product quality improvement.
“Since 1997, we have gone through various phases in the business. But in recent years, our growth momentum has strengthened — the main factors are product quality and an emphasis on local tastes.
“Many customers ask whether US Pizza is the same as other pizza brands. Our answer is ‘no’. We offer pizzas that are more to the taste of Malaysians,” he elaborated.
Yeo said that most of the 70 US Pizza outlets in the country operate as franchises, with the investment cost for a single outlet estimated between RM550,000 and RM700,000.
He said demand for franchises continues to rise in line with the brand’s strength and an expanding customer base, especially in urban areas.
Earlier at the same event, US Pizza signed a strategic cooperation agreement with RHB Bank to launch the MySiswa promotion — a new initiative making the product more affordable for students.
Yeo signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of US Pizza, while RHB Bank was represented by RHB Islamic Bank’s head of strategy and corporate services, Roshan Jaffar.
Through MySiswa, students can enjoy a “Buy 1, Get 2 Free” promotion on pizza purchases at all US Pizza outlets nationwide by simply presenting a valid student or matric card to redeem the offer, either for dine-in or takeaway.
