MAF Veterans Foundation Opens Fifth Dialysis Centre - And First In Perak - In Bidor

IPOH, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Veterans Foundation has expanded its reach by opening its fifth dialysis centre - and the first in Perak - in Bidor, to serve both veterans and residents there.

MAF Veterans Affairs Department (JHEV) director-general Maj Gen Datuk Semaon Marjuki said the dialysis centre in Bidor is operated by DVET Holding Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the MAF Veterans Foundation.

He said the foundation intends to open up more dialysis centres in states that still do not have such facilities so that more patients, particularly MAF veterans nationwide, can receive holistic treatment.

"DVET Holdings also handles four other dialysis centres in Selangor - Seri Kembangan, Batu Caves, Bukit Sentosa and Batang Kali.

"With the opening of the branch in Bidor, we plan to expand the services by opening four more dialysis centres in Batu Kurau (Perak), Mersing (Johor), Muadzam Shah (Pahang) and Jempol (Negeri Sembilan) this year,” said Semaon, who is also the MAF Veterans Foundation deputy chairman, in a statement today.

Semaon said the dialysis centres offer treatment using modern equipment according to Ministry of Health (MOH) standards, with experienced nurses providing friendly services to patients, besides charging more reasonable treatment costs.

He said many of the staff have vast experience in the field of nephrology, making treatment at the centres not only safe but also ensuring the patients and their families have confidence in seeking treatment there.

"The treatment costs are also more reasonable compared to many other similar facilities. Each of our foundation's dialysis centres serves as a social institution for well-being,” he said.

He also said that the uniqueness of the facilities at the dialysis centres is the foundation's inclusive approach, which opens its services to everyone, not just MAF veterans.

Sameon, who officiated the opening of the foundation's Bidor dialysis centre yesterday, also witnessed the handing over of contributions to the MAF Veterans Foundation, with Affin Islamic Bank Berhad presenting RM50,000 and Pharmaniaga Berhad RM39,500.

According to the foundation, the contributions reflected the continued commitment of the corporate sector in supporting its welfare efforts, as well as strengthening the network of strategic collaboration, which directly benefits the community, especially MAF veterans who have sacrificed so much in defending the country.
