1R1JG Initiative Expanded To Industrial Cluster To Enliven National Month Celebrations

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 23 (Bernama) -- The 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) initiative, which has been extended to industrial clusters, will be launched tomorrow at a petrol station in Papar, Sabah, by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

Information Department (JAPEN) National Policy Publications Division director Mohd Sabri Abdullah said the expansion of the initiative was aimed at encouraging industrial clusters to further enliven the National Month celebration by flying the Jalur Gemilang at their premises.

“I wish to convey my heartfelt gratitude to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN).

“KPDN has helped us in terms of industry collaboration, and for this cluster, our partnership is with petrol stations. Tomorrow, the initiative will also be implemented with the industrial sector at a supermarket in Kuala Lumpur,” he told Bernama.

He said this after handing over the Jalur Gemilang to IOI City Mall assistant general manager Wilfred Wong to support the 1R1JG initiative in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 (HKHM 2025) celebrations here today.

Mohd Sabri said the expansion of the 1R1JG initiative to the industrial cluster is expected to broaden the programme’s reach and further foster patriotism among the community, particularly ahead of HKHM 2025.

He also expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between JAPEN and IOI City Mall, saying it exemplified the spirit of togetherness in celebrating Merdeka Month.

“Today, we are pleased to receive strong support from the industry, particularly IOI City Mall. It reflects the patriotic spirit we wish to share, and the key message is the significance of flying the Jalur Gemilang as a symbol of Malaysian pride,” he said.

In addition to the industrial cluster, the 1R1JG initiative includes six other clusters, namely education, security, health, government agencies, higher education, and the community.

Meanwhile, Wong expressed hope that the cooperation with JAPEN would continue, citing the proverb “berat sama dipikul, ringan sama dijinjing”, roughly equivalent to the English idiom “many hands make light work”, as part of efforts to instil patriotism among Malaysians.

He said that, as a leading shopping mall attracting an average of three million visitors per month, IOI City Mall is a strategic venue to foster patriotism, particularly among the younger generation.

“The opportunity to partner with the government serves as an important platform to unite people of all races. We believe that collaboration with JAPEN will achieve the set goals and objectives,” he said.
