KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has certified the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) today for its achievement of “Most Participants In Oil Palm-Themed Treasure Hunt”.
The recognition was for Felda’s Kembara Sawit Lestari programme under the authority’s fourth cluster, with various activities including an indoor hunt, scavenger hunt and educational hunt with the participation of 1,040 settlers held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in conjunction with Felda Settler Day 2025 today.
MBR special officer Edwin Yeoh handed the certificate to Felda director-general Datuk Dr Suzana Idayu Wati Osman in a ceremony at Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) here in the presence of Felda deputy director-general (plantations) Izham Mustaffa.
Izham said at the ceremony that Felda also organised a three-day seminar from July 31 to ensure that profit and overall production of oil palm activities were maximised.
"If togetherness or accurate information can be implemented, then God willing, productivity and quality achievements can be achieved through this program and seminar," he said when met by the media after the event.
He pointed out that Felda, as a committed oil palm producer, would like to ensure all products produced were sustainable and could be marketed to the whole world in line with the theme “Sawitku Mendunia”.
“This means our oil palm that is 80 per cent of the hard work of settlers can be marketed througout the globe,” he said, adding that all Felda settlements have been Malaysia Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certified to support all the sustainable development goals (SDG) set by the government.
“We adopt good practices, comply with all laws and compliance principles in palm oil management, as well as ensuring good governance to produce high quality products,” he said.
The practices will be instilled at all levels, encompassing settlers, the new Felda generation, workers and management, in line with compliance of all regulations and needs outlined under the MPSO certification.
