KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- National squash player S. Sivasangari began her 2024/2025 PSA Squash Tour Finals campaign with a straight-game defeat to second seed Olivia Weaver of the United States in Group B on Monday.
The 26-year-old put up a strong fight but was unable to overcome the in-form world number four, losing 9-11, 9-11 in the 32-minute match at the Revival Film Studio in Toronto.
The Kedah-born player is scheduled to face Egypt’s Fayrouz Aboelkheir in her second group-stage match today.
In another Group B clash, Japan’s Satomi Watanabe edged Aboelkheir 11-7, 9-11, 13-11 in a tightly contested 51-minute battle.
Sivasangari is in Group B alongside Weaver, Watanabe and world number 14 Aboelkheir.
Only the top two players from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
