Kembara Riuh In Kelantan Opens Broader Market To MSME Entrepreneurs

KOTA BHARU, June 21 (Bernama) -- The Kembara RIUH Pesta Itu Ini programme, which concludes today, has opened up significant opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs to introduce their products to a wider market.

Organised by the Ministry of Communications, the three-day event held at the grounds of the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here received an overwhelming response from local creative and textile industry players, including young entrepreneurs from across the country, who viewed it as an important platform to expand their networks and grow brand visibility.

Among the participants who welcomed the opportunity was Amirah Sarah Mohd Fahmi, an entrepreneur from Kuala Lumpur who runs her own fashion label, Miera Fahmi.

She markets a variety of clothing designs, including kurtas, kaftans, shawls and blouses made from batik-patterned and abstract fabrics, and hopes to further commercialise her brand.

“I came all the way from Kuala Lumpur just to join this programme. It’s my first time in Kelantan and the response from visitors has been very encouraging,” she told Bernama.

Amirah Sarah had previously participated in sales programmes in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, but this was her first outing on the East Coast.

“I will continue to take part in similar events to promote my designs, but I’ll be more selective about the organisers and locations. Programmes like this should be continued because they offer a great opportunity for small entrepreneurs like me,” she said.

Muhammad Aimi Syafiq Rohaimi, a textile entrepreneur from Terengganu, also saw the programme as a valuable chance to break into new markets.

“Events like this mean a lot to us as they allow us to introduce our handmade products to more people,” he said.

Muhammad Aimi Syafiq had previously taken part in a similar event in Ketereh in 2022, which he said received a strong response.

He is also actively involved in sales programmes across the country, including in Penang, Melaka, Selangor, Johor and Kuala Lumpur.

“I believe that if the programme were held over a longer period, more visitors would be able to attend. Many could not make it due to work commitments and distance,” he said.

He sees Kembara RIUH not just as an entertainment fair, but as a strategic platform for MSMEs to promote their products, access new markets, and expand their business networks.
