KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 (Bernama) -- Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Bhd (EPIC) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ground Team Red Sdn Bhd (GTR) to explore the supply and installation of solar panels at GTR’s cargo terminal and ground service equipment maintenance centre warehouse.
In a joint statement today, the parties said the partnership reflects both companies’ commitment to advancing Malaysia’s green energy agenda.
"Under the agreement, EPIC, through its subsidiary, Eastern Pacific Properties Sdn Bhd (EPPSB), will serve as the principal solutions provider for solar infrastructure, while GTR will evaluate the integration of solar energy systems to power its key operational facilities," it said.
EPIC group chief executive officer (GCEO) Muhtar Suhaili said the partnership is not just a business collaboration, but a shared commitment to accelerating the adoption of renewable energy within the aviation support sector.
“Through this initiative, we aim to support GTR’s sustainability objectives by leveraging EPIC’s expertise in delivering solar panel systems and renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial facilities through our subsidiary, EPPSB.
"We look forward to working closely with GTR to realise practical and measurable outcomes in clean energy deployment, in alignment with the aspirations set out under Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR),” he added.
Meanwhile, GTR GCEO Musdalifa Abdullah highlighted that the collaboration with EPIC marks an important step in its ongoing journey towards carbon-neutral ground operations.
"By integrating solar energy into our cargo and maintenance facilities, we are reinforcing our commitment to sustainable aviation, and we look forward to working with EPIC to deliver real, measurable progress in line with Malaysia’s energy transition goals," he said.
