Lotus's Malaysia Brings Christmas Cheer To Children In Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 (Bernama) -- Lotus’s Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Lotus’s Malaysia) employees, together with its customers and mall tenants made this year's Christmas celebration memorable for 300 children in the Klang Valley through Lotus’s Playful and Joyful Moments Secret Santa initiative.

Lotus's Malaysia in a statement said through the programme, Lotus’s Selayang today welcomed children from Karunai Illam Welfare Home Kepong, House of Joy Puchong, Yayasan Sunbeams Ampang, Praise Emmanuel Children's Home Petaling Jaya, and Rainbow Home Cheras.

Also feted were children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak Kanak Kepong Kuala Lumpur and Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua Wilayah Persekutuan; Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ephratha Rawang; Sweet Care Home Selayang; and Good Samaritan Home Klang.

The retailer said on top of receiving gifts and being greeted by ‘Santa’, the children were invited to experience the Lotus’s Playful and Joyful Moments Play Date with activities featuring Mattel brands like Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Polly Pocket and Scrabble.

It also said the response to this year's initiative was remarkable, with hundreds of vulnerable children, some of whom may have never received a present before, were set to have their wishes fulfilled.

Regarding the campaign which will continue until Jan 1, 2024, Lotus’s Malaysia Corporate Services executive director Azliza Azmel said the company, motivated by their #KitakanJiran spirit, wanted to spread the joy of Christmas to children who might not expect to receive gifts this year.

“Many are excited about the year-end holiday season and are fortunate to spend it with their family and loved ones. However, we know it can be tough for some," she said. 

Meanwhile, Lotus’s Malls head Melissa Wong said the company was delighted that its aims to make its malls more family- and children-centric were well received. 

"Thanks to everyone who supported our effort and this worthy cause to help put a smile on children’s faces this Christmas," she said.

The Lotus’s Playful and Joyful Moments activities will continue to run until Jan 1, 2024, at Lotus’s Mutiara Damansara, Lotus’s Selayang, Lotus’s Klang, Lotus’s Rawang and Lotus’s Kepong.
