PETALING JAYA, June 23 (Bernama) -- Web Bytes Sdn Bhd has launched its Retail Tech Experience Centre that showcases Xilnex retail solutions, deployed within its own café named ‘Wonders’.
The centre is designed to offer retailers an immersive experience where they can explore Xilnex’s latest retail technologies -- including the Self-service Ordering Kiosk, iPad point-of-sale (POS), Restaurant Queue Management System and Kitchen Display System -- in a real-life café and retail shop setting.
Aside from the Xilnex POS solutions, technologies showcased at the centre include the Xilnex Live Display, a retail shelf with an intuitive built-in radio frequency identification (RFID) reader to display product information; and the Xilnex Life Rack, a fully automated food pickup smart rack equipped with built-in sensors.
“By having a tech experience centre installed within a real-life cafe and retail shop, retailers can witness our latest solutions in action and provide them with the first-hand experience of leveraging the right technology towards transforming their retail business, while supporting the growing trend of hybrid stores.
“We have the right software and infrastructure because we also work with local vendors to meet the needs of retailers,” said its chief executive officer Ooi Boon Sheng at the launch of the centre and the cafe here, today.
He said the company’s comprehensive suite of software and hardware will help retailers to save up to four times in terms of costs, as they would not have to source for each solution from different service providers.
“For example, if these technologies were previously sourced from China, now it can all be done locally.
“You can save in terms of logistics cost and even have flexibility in customising the software and hardware to suit your needs more easily,” he added.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Retail Chain Association deputy president Ken Phua said Web Bytes’ innovative approach underscores the company’s commitment to understanding the needs and challenges faced by retailers.
“This also serves as a catalyst to empower retailers to embrace new technologies, enabling them to thrive in the evolving and demanding retail landscape,” said Phua.
Web Bytes, a cloud-based retail management software company, is 38 per cent-owned by GD Express Carrier Bhd (GDeX).
