Capital A launches new cross-border mobile gifting service for Airasia Super App

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- Capital A has launched ‘airasia gifts’, the latest feature in its airasia Super App, in partnership with South Korea’s mobile platform company COOP Marketing Group.

Capital A said users are now able to experience cross-border mobile gifting via airasia chat.

“Airasia Super App has set up the right infrastructure, such as airasia chat, which can facilitate mobile gifting easily, especially cross-border gifting.

“As we are in the season of giving, this is the right time for us to launch this in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia today,” said Capital A president (commercial) Colin Currie at the airasia community vision launch in the Publika Shopping Gallery here today.

“The vision is to drive engagement and app stickiness on our platform by having all of these in place - airasia chat, communities and channels, and in the future develop this into our own advertising platform,” he added.

Also present during the launch were Capital A chief executive officer Tony Fernandes and COOP Marketing Group chief executive officer Alex Jeon.

Currie said that airasia Super App is the only travel super app to offer cross-border mobile gifting abilities.

“Gift categories include airasia products like flights, hotels, food and beauty, health and wellness, entertainment, fashion, food and beverages, with over 300 brands of mobile gift vouchers to choose from,” he said.

Currently, app users from anywhere in ASEAN can access airasia gifts and can send gifts to anyone in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.
