KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has formed a strategic partnership with Valuer, an AI platform for corporates, investors, accelerators and startups, to create a new path for industry collaboration between the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and the global startup ecosystem, driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In a joint statement today, both parties said that they will jointly conduct research on the global startup ecosystem, studying its development and publishing insights for market consumption.
By using Valuer (www.valuer.ai), which is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, UTP and its partners can better understand what new technologies and innovations can be used to drive their success and shape futures, whilst Valuer will work with local ecosystems in the region to further enrich its AI platform and tools, with data on Asia’s newest startups.
UTP will be able to provide Valuer’s product offerings on top of industrial consultancy services to corporations, government agencies, universities, research institutions, accelerators and venture funds across the Asia Pacific region, read the statement.
With Valuer, UTP will be able to obtain its insights through an AI-driven approach which uses both quantitative and qualitative analysis to discover emerging trends, identify new market opportunities and bring untapped value to corporate innovators and investors alike.
UTP vice-chancellor and chief executive officer (CEO), Prof Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, said that Valuer’s complementary roles and functions will play a significant part in UTP's work to impart the knowledge and skills needed for students to realise their entrepreneurial capabilities, through a blend of qualitative and quantitative skillsets.
“We are very excited about the tools and capabilities that Valuer has that can add real value to what UTP is currently trying to do, especially as we attempt to commercialise our range of intellectual property (IP),” he said in the statement.
Valuer co-founder and chief growth officer, Dennis Poulsen, in the same statement, said the strategic partnership with UTP is the perfect example of working together to drive the newest technologies towards commercialisation, for the betterment of all parties.
“By working with UTP, we will also have the immense privilege of working to bridge the technological gap that still exists between APAC and the larger startup ecosystem within which we operate,” he said.
