The Sabah Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and MEASAT GLOBAL BHD are expanding the deployment of the CONNECTme NOW high-speed satellite broadband service in 50 new locations across Sabah.
In a joint statement today, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor said the state government places great importance on ensuring that everyone in the state has access to quality Internet connectivity.
Meanwhile, Sabah Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Yakub Khan said MEASAT’s CONNECTme NOW service can be set up anywhere in just days, helping to bring high-speed broadband connectivity via satellite to rural residents in the state.
CONNECTme NOW is a high-speed WiFi Hotspot service leveraging on MEASAT's innovative satellite broadband system.

MALAYSIA AIRPORTS HOLDINGS BHD (MAHB) recently donated the #MYAirportCARES aid packages to 230 recipients from the airport community in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
In a statement today, MAHB said with an allocation of about RM38,300, each donation pack contained basic necessities such as rice, wheat flour, cooking oil, sugar, milk, dry food, and face masks.
“All the recipients were from the B40 group, including airport cleaning workers, former airport workers, taxi drivers, residents, and the disabled,” it said.
The contribution is a corporate responsibility initiative to alleviate the burden of the airport community in Kelantan affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, said MAHB.

JADE MARVEL GROUP BHD (JMG) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Tenaga Era Baru Sdn Bhd (TEBSB) to establish a strategic alliance for land reclamation and other development and/or construction projects.
In filing with Bursa Malaysia today, JMG said the strategic alliance would be achieved through Jadem Ganjaran Sdn Bhd (JGSB) as the joint-venture vehicle to tender and undertake projects which have been mutually agreed by the parties.
“TEBSB will assist to secure at least two projects in Penang involving land reclamation under JGSB, or other projects as may be mutually agreed by the parties,” it said.

TRI-MODE SYSTEM (M) BHD has entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement with Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd (CSSB) to acquire a piece of leasehold industrial land in Klang, Selangor for RM15.94 million.
In filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Tri-Mode said it planned to build a new warehouse and distribution hub on the land for the group and its subsidiaries.
“The proposed acquisition is not expected to have any immediate material effect on the consolidated earnings of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2021, as the proposed acquisition is only expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022,” it said.
However, the integrated logistics service provider said the proposed acquisition is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of the group once the new hub is completed.
