Universiti Malaysia Kelantan takes first place at 2020 ACEEU Asia-Pacific Triple E Awards

KOTA BHARU, Jan 11 -- Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) was awarded first place in the category of 'Student-Driven Sustainability Project of the Year Award’ at the 2020 ACEEU Asia-Pacific Triple E Awards on Entrepreneurship and Engagement Excellence in Higher Education, in Kochi, India yesterday.
The awards were hosted by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU).
UMK's winning entry was its Social Enterprise for Economic Development project, said the university in a statement issued today.
The university's International Centre director Assoc Prof Dr Wee Yu Ghee received the award from ACEEU Awards chairman Prof Dr Thorsten Kliewe.
UMK also took third prize in the category of 'Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year Award'.
The event received some 300 entries for 12 categories, from about 50 universities in the Asia-Pacific region.
