MELAKA, Jan 9 -- The Melaka River Cruise Service will be temporarily stopped to make way for maintenance work from Jan 14 to 16.

Melaka River and Coastal Development Corporation (PPSPM) chief executive officer Azlan Abidin said this was an annual servicing and maintenance routine for all the boats in addition to improving the service.

“In December last year we received over 139,000 visitors, resulting in frequent and daily use of all the boats.

“Hence, the temporary closure will enable to improve our service so we can provide quality service,  especially during the Chinese New Year celebrations,” he told Bernama here Wedneaday.

The inconvenience is regretted and the Melaka River Cruise service will operate as usual after Jan 16, he added.
