SEREMBAN, Dec 3  -- Seremban police chief ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim today confirmed that he had received a report from Negeri Sembilan Legislative Assembly speaker Datuk Zulkefly Mohamad Omar in connection with a slanderous statement.

He said Zulkefly lodged the report yesterday at the Seremban District Police Headquarters.

"The case is being investigated under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998," he said.

Yesterday, Zulkefly, who is also Negeri Sembilan Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) vice-chairman II, lodged a police report on the alleged slander on his Facebook page under the name 'PH Hot Coffee', claiming he was a power-crazy, demented speaker who had forgotten his roots.

Zulkefly was quoted as saying that the statement had publicly humiliated and tarnished his reputation as the state speaker.
