MELAKA, Oct 14 – The Melaka state government will set up Yayasan Nusantara which will focus on Malay culture so that good Malay values will be the thrust for the development in the state and country.
Melaka Chief Minister Adly Zahari said the foundation is currently in the process of being registered and will be set up this year.
“Issues sometimes arise because the message and information have not been sent properly.
“We want to make Melaka a centre of language and what is important is our belief that Malay can be the language of unity, knowledge and information,” he told reporters after officiating the Archipelago Malay Language and Letters Congress, Melaka-level, at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) Ayer Keroh today.
Adly said the state government had identified the person who will manage Yayasan Nusantara, namely an experienced academic from a local university.
“If the Malays hold on to Malay values and Islamic values, I am confident it will make us a strong race,” he said.
