KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 -- Bernama Radio, the radio station managed by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), will embrace a new focus on business news concerning Small and Medium Enterprises, effective Oct 1.
Bernama Radio's chief operations officer Azlan Idris said the move will serve to breathe new life into the station.
"The focus on SMEs is so different from what is offered by other business-based radio stations," he told Bernama today, adding that the large number of SMEs in Malaysia, nearing about 900,000, coupled with the fact that about 400,000 of these enterprises were owned by Bumiputera entrepreneurs, were the two main factors which led to the shift in focus.
Expressing the hope that loyal listeners of Bernama Radio would receive the new content positively, Azlan said the shift represented the most significant transformation for the station since its establishment in 2007.
Bernama Radio can be heard on the following frequencies: FM93.9 (Kuala Lumpur), FM107.5 (Johor Bahru), FM100.9 (Kuching) and FM 107.9 (Kota Kinabalu).
