Second of three missing anglers found dead

LABUAN, Sept 10 -- Another victim who was one of the three anglers who were reported missing while fishing around Lawas' waters on Monday had been found dead last night (Tuesday).

Faruk Arina Ahmad Sabri, was found floating on the shoreline of the Pulau Sari Besar around 11pm by Kg Punang fire brigade volunteers and villagers there.

The third angler, Mohd Amirul Bakar, 26 is still missing.

The first victim Yee Chon Tiong, 30 was found around Lawas' waters at 8.50am yesterday (Tuesday).

They were said to have set out to sea for fishing at 5am on Monday (Sept 9) and they supposed to return home at 6pm the same day.

Labuan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) enforcement chief captain maritime Che Adnan Md Isa said one of the anglers' wife reported her husband Faruk Arina and his two friends went fishing around  Pulau Sari at about 5am (Monday) and immediately lodged a report after her husband did not return.

The agency launched the search and rescue operation on Tuesday and the operation was still ongoing for Amirul.

Che Adnan said the SAR also involved Brunei royal maritime agency, Malaysian marine police, Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) and local fishermen.
