NILAI, Aug 23 -- The disappointment was clearly shown on the face of national women's track cyclist Fatehah Mustapa after failing to qualify to the keirin final at the 2019 Southeast Asia Grand Prix Track Cycling Championship at the National Velodrome, here today.
Fatehah had to accept the bitter results after she could not put herself in the top-two position during the repechages in her pet event.
Bernama was made to understand that Fatehah was also not satisfied with the competition schedule which was linked to the number of racers qualifying to the final.
However, she refused to comment further on the matter when was met by Bernama.
Yesterday, the 30-year-old athlete won the silver medal for the sprint event, simultaneously proving she was able to reach the key performance index (KPI) set by the National Sports Council (NSC) to remain in the Podium Programme.
