Several roads in Klang Valley inundated due to flash floods

14/08/2019 08:36 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Heavy rain for more than two hours in the Klang Valley this afternoon caused flash floods in some areas in the city, including several roads.

A spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said that though the rain, which fell since 4 pm, has stopped, most of the roads remained inundated.

“Traffic was moving slowly from Bangsar to Pantai Dalam and from Maju Jaya to Templer due to flash floods at the exit road at Km 18.8 Jalan Klang Lama, making the left and emergency lanes impassable.

“Flash floods were also reported at Km 8.6 of the Besraya Expressway (northbound), making the emergency, left and middle lanes impassable and traffic was moving slowly from the Mines to Kampung Malaysia in Sungai Besi in both directions,” he said when contacted.

The SMART tunnel is also closed because of the flash floods.
