MELAKA, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- BoiengTech Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer of high-frequency radio components from Hong Kong will invest over RM23.77 million to open a plant in Taman Tasik Utama, Ayer Keroh, which will start operations next September.

The state’s Industrial, Trade and Investment Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen said Hong Kong’s investors owned 80 per cent of the company while Malaysian the rest.

The manufacturing plant according to him would use radio frequency identification technology from German.

“We are very grateful for the operation of this plant in Melaka as it not only enhances the investment in the state but also provides employment opportunities for the locals.

“Today, we are handing over the 'no objection' letter to BoiengTech Malaysia Sdn Bhd company to operate in the state following approval from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and the Malacca State Development Corporation,” he told a press conference here last night.

The plant would provide 80 job opportunities to locals, he said, adding that the United States is the main export destination for the high-frequency radio components manufactured by the company.
