Parents to perform haj despite death of son, daughter-in-law

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) --  While Zakaria Tajuddin and his wife will be going to Mecca to perform the Haj tomorrow, they are still in disbelief over the sudden death of their son and daughter-in-law, who were killed in an accident on the Federal Highway today.

“While I am sad, I will be leaving for Mecca with my wife Halimah Mohd Isa as planned ….what happened today are all the plans of Allah and I accept them” he said.

Meanwhile, Fatimah Mohd Yatim, 60, said she had breakfast with her daughter Nur Syuhadah Zaini, this morning not knowing that it would be their last meal.

“She had  invited her parents-in-law and even took a day’s leave tomorrow to take me to the Tabung Haji Complex at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) where her in-laws were staying,” said Fatimah, at the Universiti Malaya Medical Center here.

Between sobs, she said her grandchildren were now orphans in the blink of an eye after her son-in-law Muhammad Hamadi Zakaria who was riding a super bike with his wife riding pillion were killed in the motorcycle accident earlier this morning.

The couple, both aged 31, from Shah Alam have two daughters Hanna Safiyyah, six, and Hani Safina, two.

Their remains were buried at at the Seksyen 21 Muslim Cemetery, Shah Alam today.
