KUCHING, 25 Jun (Bernama) — After the Kuching Waterfront, the Batu Kawa Waterfront is set to become the next tourist attraction and landmark in Sarawak when it is completed in May 2020.

In his speech before laying down the foundation stone for the project, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state government would develop Batu Kawa, a suburban area in Kuching division.

“We want to develop this town and the waterfront will be a tourist attraction with boat services from the Kuching Waterfront.

“We will also build the Seniawan Waterfront, creating a network of boat services which begins at the Kuching Waterfront and ends in Seniawan,” he said.

Abang Johari said the waterfront project, an initiative to beautify the area, would cost RM10 million in total, with funds from the state government.
