New Beluran GOF Chief vows to make battalion among most respected

Last update: 24/06/2019
SANDAKAN, June 24 (Bernama) -- The new commanding officer of the Beluran 20th Battalion General Operations Force (GOF) has pledged to make the battalion among the most respected and feared by the enemy, especially in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone).

ACP Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir said he would further streamline the administration of the battalion and ensure the comfort of its personnel, who have been based at a rented shop building for over four years.

“We were supposed to move to a new place, but allocation constraints have not allowed us to do so.

“However, I will give my best to lead the Beluran 20th Battalion GOF in ensuring the trust and responsibility towards national security are fulfilled,” he said after inspecting a guard-of-honour and taking the salute here today.

He hoped the 641 officers and men of the battalion would give him their full cooperation.

Mohd Nasaruddin succeeded ACP Rattan Kumar Singh, who has moved to the Sabah police contingent headquarters as head of the state’s Internal Security and Public Order Department.
