SEREMBAN, June 12 (Bernama) -- The Seremban Municipal Council (MPS) has been asked to revive the committee on old buildings to find ways to deal with the problem of aged and abandoned building found in in the Town Centre here.
Negeri Sembilan Rural Development committee chairman Ismail Ahmad, said the committee, which comprises various government departments and agencies, should be mobilised to restore the image of Seremban town.
“This old buildings may be dangerous and may also have a bad effect on the surrounding community, especially involving crime, drugs and other misconduct.
“The building which are 80 to 100 years old are mostly shop houses and private houses which are likely to endanger the safety of people passing through or who are in the building. We don’t want these old buildings to have a negative impact on society,” he told a press conference here today.
