SEREMBAN, April 16 (Bernama) -- The last two suspects arrested for allegedly stopping and inspecting a police patrol vehicle during the Rantau by-election last Saturday have been remanded for four days beginning yesterday.
The two, who were arrested in Nilai and Rantau yesterday, are among five people who allegedly stopped and inspected the police patrol car in front of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chung Hua in Rantau because they suspected it was carrying extra ballot papers.
Negeri Sembilan Police acting chief Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusop, when contacted today, said the two were detained to help in the investigation under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing civil servants from carrying out their duty.
Police had earlier arrested three men, aged between 36 and 50, in Rantau and Seremban on Sunday, and remanded them for three days.
