LANGKAWI, April 13 (Bernama) -- A total 1,500 domestic and foreign cyclists took part in the 2019 RHB Langkawi Ride at Dataran/Laman Mar Mar here this morning.
The event, which was held for the first time, involved three categories, namely, 100 km Eagle Ride, 72 km Heritage Ride and 25 km Adventure Ride.
For the 100 km Eagle Ride, which started at 7 am, the participants were flagged off by Tunku Temenggong of Kedah Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir.
Syed Saddiq and Mukhriz then took part in the 72 km Heritage Ride category.
The 72 km ride was also enlivened by the participations of national number one singer, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin and her husband, Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa.
