KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- Purchasing low quality personal protective equipment (PPE), inaccurate reporting about something and taking a short cut in implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) are among the reported breach of integrity in employment industry.
National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the matter was very alarming as it involved death cases.
"That is why integrity is very important and is the main agenda of the 22nd Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Safety and Health (COSH 2019) which will take place on Aug 26 and 27.
"This is because the issue of corruption in this country is alarming and can cause more accidents in the workplace," he said at the pre-launching of COSH 2019 here today.
Lee said COSH 2019, scheduled to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) is targeting 1,500 participants from the occupational safety and health agencies nationwide.
