KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Bernama) -- One hundred Bank Simpanan Nasional Micro Islamic (BSN Micro/i) customers have been selected to join a six-month micro-finance entrepreneurs analytics pilot project in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).
BSN chief business officer Mujibburrahman Abd Rashid said the participants would have the opportunity to learn how to use accounting software from UiTM Accounting Faculty students and lecturers.
“Through this programme, our Micro/i customers will learn how to record their business data and transactions accurately and systematically.
“Apart from this, they will also receive instructions on how to determine the financial position of their company, control costs and expenditure, as well as manage the cash flow and revenue of their businesses on a daily, weekly and monthly basis,” he said in a statement today.
The “SPS Lite” accounting software used for this project would be provided free for one year to the BSN Micro/i customers selected for the programme.
Mujibburrahman said the use of the accounting software would facilitate the participants’ tax or zakat payments and enabled them to identify the causes of business slumps, as well as avoiding fraud in their businesses.
