KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) kept their nerves to beat Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) 3-1 in a tense penalty shoot-out during the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL) Charity Shield match at the Batu Buruk Hockey Field here today.
The teams were tied 2-2 in regulation time.
Faizal Saari, Jang Jong Hyun and Mohd Fitri Saari netted in the shoot-out to hand THT their first trophy since joining the MHL in 2013.
Only Rafizul Ezry Mustafa sounded the board for UniKL in the shoot-out.
In normal play, Faizal (third minute) and Jong Hyun (15th) put THT 2-0 ahead before UniKL hit back through two Razie Rahim penalty corner goals in the 30th and 35th minutes.
THT and UniKL shared a point each as the match counted towards the league standings.
