DVS to handle further probe into dog poisoning case

PORT DICKSON, Jan 11 (BERNAMA) -- The police have stopped investigation into the alleged poisoning of  several dogs at Taman Lavender Heights, Seremban, and the matter would now be investigated by the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS).

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaluddin said the police stopped the investigation after the Deputy Public Prosecutor's Office issued the order.

“We have stopped investigating, the DVS will continue the investigation based on the relevant legislation under the purview of the Department,” he told reporters at a special programme attended by families of police personnel, here today.

Also present at the event was celebrity chef Datuk Fazley Yaakob who also held a cooking demonstration.

Reports on the allegedly poisoned dogs had gone viral on social media recently.

In another development, Noor Azam confirmed that he would be transferred to Selangor as its new Police Chief, but did not say when his appointment would take effect.
