22 UPKO Ranau Youth members quit party

05/12/2018 11:28 PM

KOTA KINABALU, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO)’s Ranau Division Youth’s chief together with 21 party members quit the party today.

Its chief Jackson Musi said among the reasons behind the decision, were that a majority of UPKO Ranau division’s youth members had lost confidence in the party's leadership and would submit their resignation letters in the near future.

“Actually, we have lost confidence in the party's leadership since the establishment of a mixed government between the Sabah Warisan Party and the Pakatan Harapan (PH).

“Secondly, especially in Ranau, we have lost confidence in Paginatan assemblyman (Datuk Abidin Madingkir) ... he (Abidin) does not care about UPKO Ranau division, and only focuses on Paginatan,” he said at a press conference here today.

Jackson also claimed that the unity among UPKO members had been affected since the party’s election in 2015 and advised the party’s leadership to take action to strengthen the party to remain relevant.
