KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 (Bernama) – Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd is targeting an output of up to 200 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy this year.
Its chief executive officer and group managing director, Datuk Dr Abdul Karim Abdullah said at the moment, the projects were being developed at a cost of RM1.3 billion in Sabah, Perak and Laos to produce 130 MW of renewable energy.
"For example, in Kota Marudu (Sabah), we are developing a 30MW hydropower plant and signing a contract for the project in Perak to produce 60 MW opf renewable energy,” he told reporters when met at the Smart Living Innovation Caucus 2018, here, today.
Abdul Karim said Serba Dinamik was also optimistic of producing the balance of 70 MW involving a cost of RM700 million by the year-end.
Meanwhile, he said various parties must play their role through serious involvement and commitment in the power-generation industry to assist the government achieve the aim of producing 20 per cent of renewable energy by 2025.
“The industry players include the government as the policy maker, financial institutions in providing suppport and consumers in accepting the use renewable energy at reasonable tariffs,” he added.
