KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- A 5.4-magnitude moderate earthquake struck Banda Sea in the Indonesian Maluku Islands at 5.40 pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement today, said the quake with a depth of 305 kilometres (km) was reported to have occurred 275 km south of Ambon.
However, it did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia.
