KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysian Police (RMN) has begun investigating allegations, gone viral on social media, associating Attorney-General (AG) Tommy Thomas of being anti-Islam, after he lodged a police report today.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said he received a police report today from Thomas side, following the impact of the posting on Facebook and WhatsApp applications.
“Police have initiated an investigation into the case which is classified under Section 500 of the Penal Code (for defamation) and section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (improper use of network facilities or network service),” he said in a statement tonight.
Thomas today lodged a police report following several allegations gone viral associating him of being anti-Islam.
It is learned that the report was made by two of his special officers, Amir Nasarudin and Siti Rahayu Mumazaini at the Putrajaya District Police Headquarters at about 3.15 pm.
