TAWAU, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- Muslims have been urged to continue working together to strengthen unity between the multi-ethnic community, said Balung assemblyman Datuk Osman Jamal.
He said the matter could be done by imitating the noble characters of Prophet Muhammad, including respecting others.
“Being friendly and respectful with everyone is not only beneficial to certain individuals but it will also benefit the whole community,” he said when officiating the Tawau district-level Quran Recital held at the Tawau Municipal Council here last night.
Osman said that Muslims were bound by three relationships, namely, relationship between him and his Creator Allah; between him and fellow humans and lastly, relationship with oneself.
In the meantime, he said Muslims should refer to the Quran as guidance and to practice them in all aspects of daily life.
Meanwhile, the Quran Recital, first held in 49 years (the last one was held in 1970), Mohd Azamudin Lukman and Noriam Kata were announced as the winners in male and female categories respectively.
