KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- The non-governmental organisation, Humanitarian Care Malaysian (MyCare), and its agency Rose2Rose aimed to raise RM300,000 this year in a bid to help empower Rohinga women in need.
Rose2Rose chairman, who is also Mycare Board of Trustees member, Dr Fauziah Mohd Hasan berkata the fund raising effort was being implemented through the #ImpactAMother campaign launched early this year.
“The fund will be used for the purchase of sewing machines and to provide skills training for them to generate income.
“So far, we have succeeded in raising RM80,000, but we need to raise more to help bear the costs and current expenses at nine women and children community centres across the world.
“Among the centres are in Idlib, Syria; Antalya, Turkey; Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh; and in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur,” she told a press conference after the MyCare Lunch4Humanity programme here today.
Dr Fauziah said the fund would also be used to pay the teachers at the centres.
The public can channel their donations to Humanitarian Care Malaysia Berhad’s bank accounts, namely Maybank (551575004299), CIMB Islamic (8602135592) and Bank Islam (12092010034904).
