IPOH, April 2 (Bernama) -- Approximately 230 direct services (touchpoints) provided by ministries and government agencies through 34 booths await visitors at the Perak MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2026, which will start tomorrow.
The programme to be held at the Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout in Meru Raya here for three days will be conducted on a large scale and is the first in the tour series for this year.
The event will take place from 9 am to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, while on Sunday, it ends at 6 pm.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the event this Saturday.
The Perak PMR 2026, themed 'Sustainable Cities, Quality Housing, Harmonious Communities,' is implemented through strategic collaboration between the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) and the Prime Minister's Office as the main secretariat, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government as the leading ministry and the Perak State Government as the host.
The theme reflects the government's aspiration to create an integration between physical development and the well-being of the people through sustainable urban development, the provision of quality housing to enhance the quality of life, and the formation of harmonious communities to ensure social stability as the foundation of the nation's progress.
That aspiration is also in line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan, which emphasises community well-being, housing and urban development.
The Perak PMR 2026, which aims to attract around 100,000 visitors, will also be enlivened with other activities, including the Rahmah Sales Programme offering discounts of between 10 per cent and 30 per cent, a career carnival, free helmet exchanges, a local food festival, free motorcycle engine oil exchanges and free haircuts.
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates are also invited to the Public Service Department (JPA) booth, which will provide information about the sponsorships offered by JPA for SPM graduates to continue their education.
In addition, the public, especially those looking for jobs, is invited to the MYFutureJobs Perak LINDUNG Career Carnival where various job opportunities, open interview sessions, and career services await jobseekers at the carnival.
