SHOW-CAUSE LETTER ISSUED AFTER RAFIZI APPEARS TO LOSE CONFIDENCE IN PARTY - FUZIAH

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has been issued a show-cause letter over actions suggesting he has lost confidence in the party, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said.

She said the move also follows Rafizi’s claim that leaving now would trigger the anti-hopping law.

“Yes, the letter was issued under Article 9(1)(C) of the PKR Constitution, which covers membership termination, with C referring to a member’s declaration of leaving the party,” she said.

She made the remarks at a press conference after attending the Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar at Raja Alang Bazaar in Kampung Baru today.

Yesterday, Fuziah said Rafizi has until today to explain his plan to contest the 16th General Election without PKR’s ticket.

Commenting on the notice, Fuziah said the party had yet to receive a response from Rafizi, but he has until midnight to reply.

When asked about the consequences of Rafizi not responding, Fuziah said the notice concerns his membership as Pandan MP.

“Even without a formal letter, Rafizi’s intention to leave the party, if treated as an official act, could have serious consequences, potentially costing him his membership and his seat as an MP, which is why he has been given the chance to clarify his true intentions,” she said.

On Thursday, Rafizi confirmed receiving a PKR show-cause notice over his declaration to leave the party.
