KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- Iran has closed its entire airspace until further notice following reports of Israel attacks on its territory on Saturday.

Iran’s Mehr news agency (MNA) reported the announcement was made by Iran Civil Aviation Organisation spokesperson, based on a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued.

Iraq has also closed its airspace in response to the latest development.

Transport Ministry spokesman Mitham al-Safi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the ministry has announced the closure of Iraqi airspace,” noting that “the closure was preceded by the evacuation of all air traffic from Iraqi airspace.”

Multiple strong explosions rocked Tehran while blasts were also reported in several other Iranian cities including Isfahan, Qom, Karaj and Kermamshah, according to IRNA news agency.

Anadolu Ajansi reported that Israeli defence minister said Tel Aviv had launched ‘preemptive’ strike against Iran.
