MELAKA, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Melaka's iconic tourism product, Menara Taming Sari, located in Banda Hilir, recorded nearly 9.8 million visitors since it began operating in 2008.

Melaka Taming Sari Berhad (MTSB) chief executive officer Nur Azan Hassan said that, in conjunction with the Visit Melaka Year 2.0 (TMM2.0) and Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), they aim to attract 600,000 visitors to climb up the 110-metre-tall tower.

"On April 18, Menara Taming Sari will celebrate its 18th anniversary, and as such, we plan to honour the tower's 10 millionth visitor as a gesture of appreciation.

"Various activities, such as a lucky draw offering exciting prizes, will also be held in conjunction with the tower's anniversary celebration,” he told Bernama here today.

In a bid to attract more visitors to climb up the tower, he said MTSB is collaborating with Tourism Melaka's promotion division to offer a 10 per cent discount through the Melaka Tourism Passport initiative in conjunction with TMM2.0 and VM2026 celebrations.

He added that the passport could be purchased at the tower for RM5, and visitors could also enjoy various attractive offers for entry to multiple tourism destinations in the state.

The tower has a 360-degree rotating deck that offers views of the surrounding areas of Melaka City.
