KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- The street religious outreach activities conducted by Multiracial Reverted Muslims (MRM) may proceed provided they comply with the laws and guidelines established by the authorities.
Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Azman Abidin, said that adherence to existing regulations is essential to ensure all parties can operate in a professional and prudent manner.
“I appreciate the efforts being carried out and support their implementation within the space permitted by law,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier, Azman received a courtesy call from independent preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung and MRM chairman Muhammad Azim Abdullah Suhaimin.
He said the meeting was prompted by a recent incident involving an MRM religious outreach booth, which was subject to enforcement action by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
“During the session, discussions focused on clarifying and simplifying the organisational procedures for MRM’s street ‘Dakwah’ activities, so that it aligns with the guidelines and regulations set by local authorities, specifically DBKL,” Azman added.
