KUALA LUMPUR, June 16 (Bernama) -- Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA) 2026 will maintain high and transparent judging standards through the involvement of professional panels and an audit process conducted by government auditors.

Communications Ministry Content Development Division principal assistant secretary Puteri Farah Nadiah Zukifli said all entries would undergo a rigorous evaluation process by a panel comprising academics and qualified industry practitioners.

“The judges selected are highly qualified professionals, including academics in the creative industries and experienced industry players,” she said on Bernama Radio's Fokus 30 programme titled Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA) 2026 here today.

She also encouraged industry players to seize the opportunity to participate in ASA 2026, describing it as a key platform to elevate Malaysia's broadcasting and digital content industries.

ASA 2026 will also introduce several category enhancements to ensure the awards remain relevant amid the evolving media landscape.

For the radio category, the Best Radio Commentator award will be reinstated after it was last contested in 2022 and omitted from the 2024 edition.

Under the new media category, Best Drama Series has been discontinued and replaced with a new category, Best Drama, Drama Series and Micro Drama Content.

Meanwhile, Best Video Content has been renamed Best Short Video to reflect current digital content production trends.

Submissions for ASA 2026 opened on June 4 and will close on June 22, providing opportunities for players in the broadcasting, radio, television and new media industries to showcase their best works.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Oct 24 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), with winners set to receive exclusive trophies and cash prizes.
