Xi Shows Trump Beijing's Temple Of Heaven

BEIJING, May 14 (Bernama-dpa) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping showed United States (US) President Donald Trump Beijing's Temple of Heaven on Thursday following an official welcome and initial talks, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

Located south of the Great Hall of the People, the iconic temple complex set within a large park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major attraction for both domestic visitors to Beijing and international tourists.

Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties held ceremonies here to pray for a good harvest from the 14th to the 20th century.

Trump's predecessor as president, Gerald Ford, was also shown the complex along with his wife in 1975.
