M. Nasir’s First Musical Theatre: Searching For Liu

KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) -- After decades of enriching the arts scene through music and acting, Malaysian music legend M. Nasir is embarking on a new artistic journey with the production of the musical theatre Mansur & Liu.

The production marks the first musical theatre project jointly produced by Datuk M. Nasir and his wife, Datin Marlia Musa, as they begin the search for “Liu”, the heroine who will bring the stage production to life.

Marlia said the actress portraying Liu must possess distinctive qualities, including graceful dance movements, articulate speech and a soft, melodious voice to complement the character of Mansur.

“This is our first musical theatre production. Previously, we only experienced performances through voices, acting and dance movements. Now, we want to see everything translated vividly on stage through fresh talents in this production,” she said in a statement.

To realise that vision, an open audition session titled ‘M. Nasir Mencari Liu’ will be held tomorrow at Club Chinois, JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur, beginning at 3 pm, inviting aspiring talents to showcase their abilities.
